I am Ronald Nyanzi, a passionate instructional designer, educator, and researcher committed to advancing equitable, innovative, and inclusive education through technology. With over 15 years of international teaching experience in Uganda and the United States, I bring a global perspective to curriculum development, digital pedagogy, and instructional design.
Currently a doctoral candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, my research focuses on the ethical and practical integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, particularly in the Global South. My dissertation, "Exploring the Adoption of Generative AI in Uganda's Higher Education: A UTAUT Perspective," investigates how technological innovation can be responsibly scaled in diverse educational contexts.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with universities, grant programs, and research institutions to support faculty and students in leveraging technology for teaching and learning. I have designed and facilitated faculty development programs, such as the NeverTechLate Project, which empowers older adults in the U.S. with digital literacy skills. I have served as a Teaching Assistant at Stanford University and as an IT specialist and instructional design collaborator at the Centre for Teaching Excellence at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to my instructional work, I serve as a Web Maintainer for the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In this role, I ensure the college's online presence is accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with university communication standards. This role allows me to merge my technical skills with my passion for user-centred design and digital communication.
My work reflects a strong commitment to digital equity, inclusive design, and lifelong learning. As a Fulbright ILEP Fellow (2016) and an active member of organizations such as SITE and PAACE, I continue to advocate for transformative educational practices that bridge technological innovation, cultural relevance, and accessibility.
